In honor of the latest endorsement from BC Rich Guitars, I figured it would be more than suitable to name a couple of my favorite metal guitarists of all time. So lets skip all the bull shit and dive right into the list!

Bjorn & Jesper

These two Swedish geniuses have inspired me since day one, and will continue to do so throughout my existence. Their harmonies are legendary, and their riffs are heavy enough to strip paint off a wall. Its no question that In Flames would not be where they are today without these two carving out the signature sonic landscape we have all come to worship from these guys.

John Petrucci

What can I say? The man is as close to embodying “guitar god” as humanly possible. He can play anything at any speed forward and backwards. One thing that makes John unique, is his ability to continue innovating new techniques and abilities throughout his career. Like a fine wine, he’s gotten better with age. Many “shredders” who try to play like John often hit a brick wall after a while. They spend so much time trying to imitate him, that they lose the ability to actually write their own unique material. He’s not only a technical wizard, but he also knows when not to play. He weaves in and out of Dream Theater songs like a paintbrush driven by the hands of Michelangelo or DaVinci.

Bill Kelliher & Brent Hinds

These two bearded bastards from Mastodon have reinvigorated the sound of dual guitars in metal music today. They developed their own style and sound which has taken the genre by the throat. What I find most attractive about their playing is the close attention to rhythm hands. They know how to follow the songs melody, and when to let the guitar start singing with classic rock inspired leads. They are almost like an American version of Bjorn and Jesper with a style unique to themselves.

Paul Gilbert

Holy fucking speed hands. This guy is just all out balls to the wall fast. Probably my choice for fastest guitar player Ive ever laid eyes and ears on. I seriously am at a loss for words here listening to the video Im about to post for Mr Gilbert. I think its best just to let his playing speak for himself in this case. Good fucking lord!

Honestly, I think its safe to say we should end here after seeing that Gilbert video. Again, these are just a couple of my favorites that I wanted to highlight here. Im sure many of you have your own to share, so lets have it in the comments below!
